Bergamot - Aromatheraphy Essentail Oil

(Citrus Bergamia)

BERGAMOTBergamot can act as a wonderful anti depressant. Bergamot is made from the skin of a citrus fruit that is grown almost exclusively in the southern tip of Italy and a few places in the Mediterranean. The bergamot essential oil is mainly cold pressed. It can be added to tea, or food preparations for a possible lemon like flavour.

Origin of Bergamot

The Bergamot grows in Morocco and West Africa. It mainly found in southern Italy.

Properties of Bergamot oil

It has a sweet, sour, astringent taste. It also acts as antiseptic, antipyretic, antidepressant, vulnerary, antispasmodic, astringent and appetite stimulant. It has rich, sweet-fruity initial odor, followed by a still more characteristic oily-herbaceous and somewhat balsamic body and dryout; the sweetness yields to a more tobacco-like and rich note, somewhat reminiscent of Clary sage and Neryl-acetate.
