Negative Side

Negative SideEssential oils are generally very useful, but at times can be toxic. One should remember that not all products prevailing in its natural form are entirely free of toxicity, just as not all chemical products are toxic. Over dosage, exaggerated use of some essential oils, in their pure form can prove to be toxic.

Some essential oils are highly toxic and it is better if avoided. A high dosage of Sage and Rosemary can induce epilepsy. Marjoram can have a drug effect (narcotic effect). Peppermint can cause dizziness. It is very important to consult a trained aroma therapist in case of a doubt.
